About Us

Darcy is a Southern Utah native and the founder of Mojave Somatics. Her work integrates Somatic Embodiment, Classical Reformer Pilates, Horse Medicine, and subtle energy practices into a cohesive, trauma-respectful approach to strength and regulation.

She is a certified Somatic Embodiment Yoga teacher (CYA-RYT 500) and is currently on the pathway to becoming a Somatic Yoga Therapist (CYA SYT-875, anticipated 2027) through Mandorla Yoga Institute. Her training is rooted in the Krishnamacharya lineage and informed by Ayurveda, subtle body philosophy, and modern somatic therapy principles.

Darcy is also Reiki Level II certified and offers Reiki and marma-informed Ayurvedic energy work for both humans and equines.

In addition to her therapeutic training, she holds Classical Reformer Pilates certifications at the elemental, intermediate, and advanced levels, along with NASM-approved anatomy continuing education. She is a certified Athletic Reformer instructor and integrates performance-based strength with nervous system awareness in her private 1:1 sessions.

Her continuing education in Horse Medicine is through Equusoma, where she studies nervous system–informed horsemanship, co-regulation, and welfare-centered relational practice.

A Return to the Barn

Darcy began riding at eleven and became deeply committed to horsemanship by thirteen. In adolescence and early adulthood, feelings of inadequacy and unresolved trauma led her away from the stables.

It was through healing that she returned.

As she rebuilt nervous system resilience through somatic practice, she found herself called back to horses. What began as a return became a reclamation.

Today, she stewards ten acres of pasture and four horses she considers family. Horses, for Darcy, are teachers, mirrors, and partners in regulation.

This lived experience informs her integration of Somatic Embodiment, Reiki, and Ayurvedic energy work into Horse Medicine offerings.

Land and Tribal Respect

Mojave Somatics is rooted in deep respect for the land and the Indigenous peoples who have lived in relationship with it for generations.

We acknowledge that our work takes place on the traditional homelands of the Southern Paiute people, including the Shivwits Band of Paiute Indians, whose community remains here in Washington County.

These red sandstone cliffs, plateaus, and river valleys carry ancestral stewardship and wisdom. We honor the history of this land and recognize that it continues to shape those who live and work upon it.

The name “Mojave” reflects reverence for the desert landscapes and the Indigenous cultures who have long called this region home. This work is offered with humility, gratitude, and ongoing respect.
