A Southern Utah native who draws from a deep well of intuitive wisdom, Darcy is the founder and lead practitioner of Mojave Somatic Yoga. Her spiritual journey began with Indigenous American teachings in childhood, and she has since embraced various philosophies, including those from the Bhagavad Gita, Ayurveda, the Chakra system, Yoga, Taoism, traditional Chinese medicine, Western psychology, and somatic-based therapies.
Darcy holds a 200-hour yoga teaching certificate from Sun Rock Yoga and has completed over 500 hours of advanced somatic yoga therapeutic studies. She is currently in her second year of a three-year somatic yoga therapy program with Mandorla Yoga Institute and is expanding her offerings with training in Horse Medicine and Somatic Therapeutic techniques.
Yoga chose Darcy in 2020 during a time of profound personal upheaval. As her world unraveled, she began healing from a faith transition and SA with the support of a trauma-informed psychologist, medication, and yoga—all within the privacy of her home during the pandemic. With time and space to feel her emotions, she found safety and solace on her yoga mat, beginning her practice each day at 4:30 AM with asana, breathwork, and meditation. Her healing journey included tools like an ice pack on her aching heart, a weighted blanket on her lower back, sound to regulate her nervous system, stretching, and resting in savasana.
Unknowingly, Darcy was practicing Somatic Yoga, unaware of its therapeutic roots and its recognition by psychologists worldwide as an important part of trauma integration. This experience is the foundation of Mojave Somatic Yoga, emphasizing autonomy in movement, breath, and sound, and offering a space to listen deeply to your inner needs for presence, regulation, and self-compassion.
Darcy practices trauma-respectful care, understanding the vulnerability involved in reaching out for help. Specializing in life transitions, she offers a safe space where you can strengthen your intuition, exercise your autonomy, and cultivate a more loving relationship with yourself. Darcy invites you to connect with your inner knowing, let your deep intuition be your guide, and holds space for the wealth of wisdom you will discover within.
